Candy Goths

wtf? what is a Candygoth?

I've heard 2 definitions of candy goth. 1st ones simple, goths that are more colorful than "regular" goths. But, being that goths dont always wear black anyway im not sure how that could really be accurate. 2nd i've heard that candy goths are those basically those hot topic kids. They look kind of alternative...they look like they're trying to be goth...and they look kinda...cute? They are usually pretty young. They are often connected to mall goths. You may have heard terms like Mallgoth,M&M's (for their tendency toward the music of Marilyn Manson), spooky kids, nu-goth, babybat, baby/kiddy/kinder goth, emo goth, or wannabe goth before. These are slag words for someone who is supposedly not a "real" Goth and whose commitment to the Gothic scene is seen as poser-ish, shallow,trendy, and/or dependent on commercially purchased, mass-marketed Goth clothes from high street stores such as Hot Topic. Mall goths specifically tend to spend a lot of time hanging at the mall and the arcade playing DDR. Mall Security guards hate them because they often cause trouble. Candy goths are not necessarily mall goths. I'm not really a fan of this style.

What do they wear?

Candy goths often wear those pants with the buckles, chains and straps (bondage pants). They often wear shirts from hot topic that have Emily Strange, hello kitty dressed alternatively or ruby gloom on them. They often wear jelly bracelets and spiked bracelets. They are often fans of demonia boots. They don't always just wear black and they don't look near as..uh..hardcore? as goths. For some reason candygoths just don't know how to fucking dye their hair. haha seriously, don't they always have the worst dye jobs ever? Not all of them of course...but a lot of them. Also, pixie cuts (the hair cut where your hair is long in the front and short and spiky in the back) seems to be popular with candy goths.
